Winners & Losers: SmackDown 10/04/19

As everyone is aware, tonight was SmackDown’s move to the Fox Network. With the move came a new set (which is top-notch), and a fresh feeling. Well, the fresh feeling was more of an overall feeling, but certainly not for the women’s division. It is understood that with a two-hour debut there is a LOT … Read more

Carmella becomes a two-time 24/7 Champion

In a moment that didn’t even occur on screen but in a WWE Exclusive, Carmella loses the 24/7 Championship. She loses it in a backstage segment that starts with The Bella Twins walking backstage as they run into R-Truth and music producer Marshmello.

After a bit of small talk, Heavy Machinery shows up. The Bella Twins exit. Carmella makes her appearance to tell Truth that they have to go. Heavy Machinery causes Marshmello to run into Carmella, knocking her down. He would fall on top of her with a referee standing by who makes the three count.

He wouldn’t hold the title long, as a little bit later, Carmella would recapture the title making her a two-time champ.

In perhaps one of the more awkward silent title victories, Truth would help Carmella win back her title. The two would be wearing Marshmello heads/masks. Truth would catch him off guard from inside the limo. Carmella would come from behind and roll him up for the pin.

What were your thoughts on what transpired? It seems to be a popular trend for non-wrestlers winning the title as of late. It needs to stay with the women’s division for a while.

This was the perfect chance for The Bella Twins, Trish Stratus, or Lita to pick up the title.

Five-way Money in the Bank Ladder match SmackDown 06/27/17

It is Friday, so it is that time again for another Free Match Friday. In anticipation of tonight’s SmackDown debut on the Fox Network, let’s look at a match that will forever be history-making.

In June 2017, SmackDown hosted its first and still only Money in the Bank ladder match for the women’s roster. In this match, the participants were Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Carmella, Natalya, and Tamina.

This took place due to a controversial ending to the first-ever women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match from the recent pay-per-view. Carmella won that match with the help of James Ellsworth who would actually retrieve the briefcase for her.

The second go-round, Carmella would climb the ladder herself to retrieve the Money in the Bank briefcase which she would go on to hold for 287-days. This was the longest that anyone has held the briefcase in history prior to cashing in on Charlotte Flair.

IMPACT Wrestling lists memorable wedding moments

IMPACT Wrestling is about to embark on another wedding moment as Melissa Santos and IMPACT World Champion, Brian Cage celebrates their pending nuptials. The couple in real life married in July, but on-screen their engagement took place just a couple of weeks ago.

As a result of this exciting news, IMPACT Wrestling has compiled their top five list of wildest weddings in the history of the company. Here is what they came up with:

Credit: TNA/IMPACT Wrestling

5. ODB & Eric Young

As the very last TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions, ODB and Eric Young met each other in the ring to tie the knot. The engagement took place after the two won the tag titles. Young would become the only man in history to win a women’s title for the company.

After their win, ODB accepted the proposal. They would defend their titles multiple times before being stripped of the title due to Young being a man after a 478-day reign. They would even defend the title in a steel cage match at Lockdown against Sarita and Rosita. The titles were retired after their reign.

4. Brooke Hogan & Bully Ray

This wedding took part during perhaps the longest drawn out stable in wrestling history – Aces & Eights. During the ceremony, Tazz would interrupt the ceremony revealing he was a member of that stable. They would attack Ray and Hulk Hogan. It would later be revealed that Ray was actually the President of Aces & Eights turning his back on the Hogans.

3. SoCal Val & Jay Lethal

This wedding would break down as Sonjay Dutt, Lethal’s best friend, had something to say during the ceremony. He admitted he had feelings for Val and that it should be him and not Lethal that marries her. Dutt would then attack Lethal.

After the attack, Dutt would find himself in a terrible position as Jake Roberts would unleash a snake on him. Val would leave crying heading up the ramp.

2. Karen & Jeff Jarrett

The Jarretts would renew their vows, but their ceremony wouldn’t end blissfully. Kurt Angle was forced to walk down Karen down the aisle after losing a match to Jeff. With her being Angle’s real-life ex-wife the sheer humiliation was enough to make him snap.

After the ceremony was concluded, Angle would retrieve an axe and destroy the set causing the couple to retreat.

1.Laurel Van Ness & Braxton Sutter

Van Ness and Sutter would start an on-screen relationship that led to their wedding. At the ceremony, Sutter couldn’t take it anymore and would get into a verbal altercation with Maria. He would profess his love for Allie (his real-life wife).

This would result as the end of Ness’ relationship with Saxton. She would then move to her maniacal “psychotic bride” gimmick
