Why So Innovative, TNA?

Either this is a spooky coincidence or TNA is trying to send one final blow to WWE, this Christmas. Hot off the heels of WWE’s holiday-themed 8 Diva tag match at Armageddon, TNA has pulled the same shtick for their Christmas episode of Impact. The company filmed next week’s Impact last night which will air … Read more

If the latest rumours are anything to go by, it seems TNA is trying to land a Knockout of epic proportions! Jeff Jarrett has reportedly pitched ideas to the one and only Torrie Wilson to join the company. Torrie retired from pro wrestling earlier this year when she left the WWE, due to back injuries. … Read more

Sojourner Bolt Becomes Full-Time Knockout

TNA has announced they have signed Sojourner Bolt to a full-time contract. It’s Official: TNA Has Lost It (Contains Spoilers)

This post contains spoilers in regards to the November 27th episode of Impact. TNA’s Knockouts division has been on a downward spiral since losing Gail Kim in August (well actually, one could argue it was heading south during Gail’s final few months there too) but this has to be the straw that breaks the camel’s … Read more

Inked: A Study in Diva Tattoos

This week’s WWE.com Diva Dish mentioned Candice Michelle‘s newest tattoo, and this little bit inspired me to investigate which former and current Divas and Knockouts have their own selection of body art. Thus, a blog post was born! Below I’ve listed those I could find:

Angelina Love

TNA’s Angelina Love has four tattoos, all pointing towards an angel fixation. She has:

• an angel on her hip
• her former ring name “Angel” scripted on her arm in Old English style lettering
• an angel on the back of her left shoulder
• the Chinese symbol for “angel” on her lower back, surrounded by a set of wings.

Why so angel-obsessed, Angelina?

“I have always had a fascination with angels. I love how they look, I love their innocence, and I love what they represent.”

Ashley Massaro

Former WWE Diva Ashley has plenty of ink:

• a butterfly on her hip
• two black-and-pink nautical stars above the elbows on the back of her arms (her brother has a matching pair on his arms)
• Chinese lettering down the small of her back
• more Chinese lettering down each side of her torso, reading “Trust No One”
• an illustration of a dragon wrapped around the lettering on the left side of her torso.

Review: TNA Knocked Out

Next month, TNA celebrates one year of it’s much celebrated Knockouts division with the release of ‘Knocked Out’, a DVD featuring all of the Knockouts including recently departed Gail Kim and Salinas. It was at Bound For Glory in October 2007 that the division was launched with a 10 woman gauntlet match to determine the first Knockout Champion and this DVD comes precisely one year from that historic event. One could argue that it’s too soon to release a Knockouts DVD but given the reception from both critics and fans alike for this division, this feels like the perfect capitalisation on a hot subject.

From key Knockouts such as ODB and the Beautiful People, the DVD even features the likes of Lauren and SoCal Val, all this interspersed with seminal matches from the division’s one year history including the complete trilogy of matches between Gail Kim and Awesome Kong as well as the Makeover Battle Royal and more. It seems the DVD’s lengthy running time is more made up of these matches than actual Knockout chapters, the likelihood is that the type of fan this DVD aims to reach are the fans who have seen these matches already; it does make for a nice little compilation nonetheless. The DVD’s introduction features comments from the likes of TNA President, Dixie Carter as well as wrestlers Christian Cage, Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett which I felt was a nice touch to add to the legitimacy of the Knockouts division – having praise heaped upon it from top tier stars. Carter’s presence on the DVD particularly stood out to me as she touches upon my thoughts, the idea of a female president of a wrestling company. Carter comes across extremely passionate, protective and supportive of this division and so she should; in a male dominated sport Carter is in a position to promote talented women over men and she speaks with conviction in her support of the Knockouts.

Oh Hey There, Gail Kim!

Marketing gaffe or just poor timing? The poster for TNA’s Bound for Glory Pay-Per-View, which doesn’t take place until October, features one Gail Kim, whom we all know has recently made an exit from the company. Obviously, the poster holds no bearing towards her status with TNA, but it’s proof positive that her departure was … Read more

Traci Brooks Named Head Knockout

The original Knockout is now the head Knockout. In a kayfabe article on TNAwrestling.com, Traci Brooks was officially named as the head official of the Knockouts division in the company. Yesterday at WWE’s SummerFest, SmackDown Divas, Eve Torres and Maryse were on opposing teams when Eve teamed up with Jimmy Wang Yang and Maryse with Carlito. TNA Reveals Knocked Out Cover

TNA has unveiled the cover of it’s new Knockout-centered DVD, Knocked Out recently. For some bizarre reason that is alieen to me, the cover features one of TNA’s less desirable Knockouts – Christy Hemme. As I recall, Christy rarely appears on television and is hardly the centerpiece of the Knockouts. With the likes of Gail … Read more

TNA Impact Redux For 7/10/07

Thursday night’s Impact show was an overall success for the Knockouts (*surprise, surprise*). For the most part, each lady involved had a formidable appearance. The Knockouts Salinas, Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, ODB, Gail Kim, Karen Angle, Taylor Wilde, Roxxi, Awesome Kong & Raisha Saeed were all featured in some way, shape, or form.

Thoughts & Reactions:
Taylor Wilde vs. Awesome Kong (Title Match):
The first Knockouts match was the $25,000 and TNA Knockouts title match between Taylor Wilde and Awesome Kong. Taylor got some good offense but was pretty boring overall. I just mean, that her only real way to get Kong down was to keep dropkicking her. She needs some better strategy in my opinion. During the contest, Roxxi came down to cheer on “the newbie”. Near the end of the contest, Kong hit a flawless “Implant Buster”, which Taylor somehow kicked out of. The end of the match came when Taylor made a surprise roll-up pin on Kong for the win, the $25,000, and the TNA Knockouts Championship. Will Taylor be able to retain the title on tonights PPV “Victory Road”? We’ll just have to wait and see. My bet says she will.

TNA Impact Redux For 7/3/08

impact redux

Today Kicks off Diva Dirt’s first “Impact Redux”, brought to you by yours truly, Doug. Most of the TNA Knockouts were shown throughout the show, including: Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, Roxxi, Moose, Taylor, Raisha Saeed, Awesome Kong, Karen Angle and Salinas, who all made for an interesting event.

Thoughts & Reactions
Roxxi vs. Moose:
The first set of Knockouts shown, I believe were Roxxi and Moose in a “Bimbo Brawl”. Moose entered first with her shopping cart of weapons, while Roxxi entered second with a chair. The match was utterly brutal, with Roxxi getting hit upside the head with two pans, and a “Yield” sign. Moose also took a beating, getting thrown into her shopping cart, and than getting a nasty baseball slide by Roxxi. The match ended when Moose set up the “Yield” sign on the mat, and planted Roxxi with a double underhook DDT on top of it. Roxxi was shown with a large cut on her forehead, and was bleeding pretty badly.

Overall, the match was pretty well done. Both ladies had great chemistry with one another, making the overall atmosphere pretty bitter. Roxxi and Moose each got their fair share of blows, and each showed an incredible amount of skill throughout.

Pillow Fights, Bikinis & Lingerie “Are for Divas”

TNA continues to ride on WWE’s coattails, this time using the Knockouts.
